Hearing this Kara looked up from her book which she was currently reading and gave the brunette a small but yet gracious smile. She had been ready from the start and no matter how many times they have these fall lil short fused fits.
“They wont hound you about the dogs..” she said to him to reassure him.
As they came to a stop finally she closed the space between them both as she kissed upon his cheek before excusing herself from the limo and waited for him to step out. While waiting, she noticed her brothers, sister in law and the kids as they too were getting out and unloading the things they had brung with them to the park.
Kara’s words were reassuring, as was the soft kiss upon his face. She wasn’t mad at him like his mind had tried to make him believe and he hadn’t messed things up completely. The day was still salvageable. All he had to do now was get through lunch with her family.
Grabbing his cane, Kaiba followed after her and exited the limo to see Mokuba bounding over towards them.
“Hey!” The younger brother cheerfully greeted. “Is everything okay between you two now?”
“Of course,” Kaiba casually replied as he hobbled beside his girlfriend and lazily wrapped an arm around her. Eyeing his brother, he asked, “Why wouldn’t it be?”
Mokuba simply pursed his lips and said nothing in return. His brother was clearly saving face for whatever had happened between him and Kara before the ride there. Judging by the look on the redhead’s face though, they seemed to have sorted things… for now at least.
“So…” Mokuba rocked back on his heels as he diverted his attention to speak with Kara instead. “Your brother and the twins were a little confused by the sudden change of destination. I don’t suppose you know why we’re having the picnic here instead of at the park?”
At overhearing his brother’s query, Kaiba had to bite down on his tongue so as not to intervene and thus appear controlling of the situation. His girlfriend could handle this on her own. She wouldn’t let slip his predicament and fact he was the cause behind it all… Would she?
Kara paused for a moment before giving her response to the younger Kaiba sibling..as she put her pointer upon her bottom lip as if to be thinking rather hard on the question she was just asked. When a nothing came she simply shrugged her shoulders and spoke. “To be completely honest with you Mokuba I’m just as confused as to why also as yiu and everyone else.” She said before glancing over at Kaiba.
At this point this is where the red head drew the line..she really hated lying to people especially when it’s those who trust her. So her next step was to talk to Kaiba again and this time he had to he the one to he honest..this was his little brother that she was dealing with and lying to him was not gonna be placed upon her conscience nor will it be weighed on her shoulders. “Excuse me for a few Mokuba if you dont mind I need to have a word with your brother at this very moment..wont be long okay?” She assured him with a genuine smile.
When they were a few inches away from Mokuba and out of ears view of hearing, the red head began to speak. “Listen..I recall our conversation within the limo and that’s fine..I agreed to not bring up any of this with my brothers but YOU brother?” She paused..“I refuse to lie to his face or better yet make up something to tell him when he deserves to know the actual truth..” She finished.. “So this is where you come in to play at. He’s your little brother and I believe he deserve to know what’s going on but I wont be the one to tell him. It’s not my place to do so. And I know this is your way of protecting him but hes not a little kid anymore Kiba. And if you keep this up..things maynot turn out well in the end.” She stated kindly in a loving manner showing concern.
Kara hoped that she didnt go to far or that she didnt cause another small problem between her and her boyfriend its the last thing she needs right now at this moment. Because if she didnt know her brothers well, they will eventually realize somethings going on. And that will lead to other issues that she wants to avoid. Especially for the sake of Kaiba cause right now hes in the safe zone..
“So with that being said i think you two need to sit and have a talk somewhere..or later on in private away from me and my family..because its between you and him.” She smiled as she waited for whatever he had to say now that she finished..
You can tell how much Atem helped Yugi in his journey on self worth and confidence! Being able to win against him in the ceremonial duel was just the first step, but in DSOD did you see Yugi stand up to Kaiba?! He is so confident in himself now and he’s willing to stand up to his insecurities! And Kaiba LISTENED. Y A L L.
